Shabbat is a time of joy, a celebration of our connections to Judaism and to family, friends, and community.

Do you feel disconnected when reciting traditional liturgy? Are you confused or disappointed mouthing words you don’t understand or cannot relate to your life?

Along with Or Adam members, you’ll participate in a personal and inspiring celebration, speaking and singing words that you can understand and relate to your life.  We use words that enrich you as they celebrate your Jewish identity past and present. Our Shabbat and other celebrations invite participation by all family members. (Check the calendar for dates and details.)

Our priority is the safety, well-being and comfort of our community, so we offer a hybrid Shabbat celebration.

Our celebrations are warm and welcoming. We encourage member participation in leadership and in our readings. The celebration includes candle lighting, Humanistic shma, kaddish, simkhas & tsoris (personal reflections of joys and sorrows), kiddush and hamotzie. Children are always welcome, and our Sunlight School students sometimes play a leading role in the celebration.

After the celebration, we have an open, topical discussion led by one of our members.  We also enjoy the oneg – sharing good snacks and camaraderie.

We also feature guest speakers or member presentations. Guest speakers are listed in the calendar.

You can contact us by email at info@OrAdamAZ.org if you would like a Zoom invitation to one of our celebrations or meetings.
